A six Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari

The six days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Safari takes you specifically to three of Uganda’s amazing national parks.  In order to Trek chimpanzees, see animals of the savanna and go trekking Mountain Gorillas. Definitely trek chimps in Kibale Forest National Park, see animals of the savanna on game-drive, boat-cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park and trek Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park during this unforgettable adventure.

Proposed itinerary

Day 1 ;Transfer to Kibale National Park

Day 2 ;   Chimpanzee tracking & visit to Bigodi wetland-Kibale national park

Day 3 ;   Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 4 ;   Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi

Day 5 ;   Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Visit Experience

Day 6 ;    Transfer to Kampala |Entebbe  8 – 9 hrs.


Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale national park

Early morning as the City is already astir, you will have your breakfast, and our driver guide will straightaway drive you through the City’s street lights towards KNP.  Have an en-route in order to observe nature offerings, the pointing adjacent hill with coffee plantations, the grazing local herds of cattle and different town suburbs with locals selling off their merchandise among others. Upon arrival at the park, you will finally check in at the lodge and have lunch. Thereafter relax and connect with nature.

Day 2: Chimp trekking experience and transfer to QENP

Kibale forest national park is especially a typical rainy forest and a home to over 1500 Chimpanzees. During your morning chimps trekking you will see them close and capture shots of our closest cousins in the Jungle in their frenzy exciting moods grooming. Besides the chimps, there are 9 different species of monkeys found in this forest for example, red colobus, red-tailed monkey and bush babies. Meanwhile in the forest canopy colored aviation creatures-butterflies and various bird species like the native Great blue Turaco, joyful greenbul, olive long-tailed cuckoo and the superb black beef eater can be spotted. You will then return back to the lodge for lunch and check out.

You will also continue with Kibale, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi safari with the transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Drive further southwards with the Rwenzori ranges (Longest in Africa). In view or shortly drive through the crater lakes in the hills through to sample out the surprising diversity of Savannah trees and wildlife. Finally reach the lodge in order to check in and enjoy the impressive view over Queen Elizabeth national park as you relax.

Day 3: Game-drive and boat-cruise in Queen Elizabeth NP

You will then discover Queen Elizabeth National Park in the cool morning as the second park on our Kibale, Queen Elizabeth & Bwindi safari. Firstly, go for an early game drive that exposes you to diverse animals for example  Big 5 members Elephants, Buffalos, big cats- Lions, Leopards more times in the evening, warthogs- Hunchback carnivals like Hyenas and many more species that are residents to this park are spotted along the Circuits as we drive along. There is a rich bird life especially our version of storks in the wetland spots as we reach the Flamingoes in the salt lakes. You will thereafter be transferred back to the lodge for lunch and freshening up.

After lunch in the afternoon, it will certainly be time for the 3pm boat-cruise on Kazinga channel, lasts 2 hours. While here you have the chance to spot hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles and more along the banks of the channel

Day 4: Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi

After an early morning breakfast, head to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the way to Bwindi, this area is commonly known for its tree-climbing lions. In Ishasha you will drive off in this adventurous vast savannah area with Tropics and the southern version of Elephants. To hopefully get the Lions high in the fig tree branches. Then proceed the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Here you will surely experience a change in the landscape from flat savanna, via cultivated hills to jungle-covered mountains. (If we reach early, we can however do a walk and mix with the locals).

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Have an early breakfast with your packed lunch and finally get ready for the big highlight of this Kibale, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi safari. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is specifically the home to the forest giants, the mountain gorillas. And on this day, you definitely get to meet them. You will then set off into the forest with a specialized guide, trek through beautiful nature and finally get to spend one hour in the area where the mountain gorillas are. Besides the gorillas this Impenetrable Forest is full of birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hog, forest Elephants, Sitatungas and Dikers. Thus have lunch and after, transfer to beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 6: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe

Having had an early morning breakfast, you will however embark on the drive back to Kampala with a stopover at equator in order to have lunch in mbarara. Lastly drive back through to Kampala/Entebbe where your guide drops. Thus this marks the end of our Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari.
