Safari destinations
Kibale National Park

Located in Western Uganda in Kabarole district and it was established in 1993, the park is known for being “The primate capital of the World” having various Chimpanzees with a population of over 1500 individuals including habituated ones which are about 120 making it the park with the highest primate population. Among the primates include the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, L’Hoest’s monkey, olive baboons, Mantled guereza, Potto, Vervet monkey, White-eyelid mangabey, Galago among others. The park is also home to about 120 mammal species including African golden cats, bush pigs, warthogs, blue and red duiker, rare sitatunga, forest hogs, African elephant, forest cape buffaloes, among others and also more than 300 species of birds including olive long tailed cuckoo, western tinker bird, grey parrot, blue breasted king fisher, blue headed sunbird, red faced woodland, yellow spotted nicator, little greenbul among other bird species.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

One of Uganda’s oldest rainforests with more than 25000 years of age. The park is home to almost half of the World’s population of Mountain Gorillas which gives a great opportunity for Gorilla Trekking and Habituation in the park’s sectors like Nkuringo, Buhoma, Ruhija and Rushaga. The park harbors 120 mammal species like Elephants, duikers,  yellow-backed duiker,  buffaloes, golden cats, bush pigs, giant forest hogs, black-fronted Duiker, clawless otter, side-striped jackal, civet, numerous bats, rodents and 350 bird species like handsome francolin, purple sunbird, red headed blue bill, African blue cuckoo, regal sunbird, breasted sunbird, Rwenzori turaco, Shelley’s crimson among other bird species.

Lake Bunyonyi

Located in the extreme border between Uganda and Rwanda and it is known for offering a great rest and relaxation to travelers due to its beautiful and breathtaking views.  Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda having 29 different Islands, a fresh climate to relax from and also a clear view of the Virunga Mountains.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Also known as a “Beautiful bird Haven” is located in the West Central Kenya and it is one of the saline lakes of the lake system lying within the Great rift valley of Eastern Africa. The park boosts of over 400 bird species including vast numbers of pink flamingoes, Abyssinian thrush, large flocks of pelicans, Bateleur, Arrow-marked babbler, and also mammals like waterbucks, impalas, warthogs,  elands, lions, leopards, hippopotamus, giraffes, black and white rhinos, African wild dog, vervet monkeys, olive baboon, colobus monkeys and many more.

Maasai Mara National Reserve

Located in the South Western region of Kenya along the Great Rift Valley area in Norok County Kenya adjacent to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Maasai Mara National Reserve was established in 1961 as a wildlife sanctuary covering an area of 520 sqkm of the current Mara Triangle.  Later it was converted into a Game Reserve and by 1984 the park had a total area of 1510sqkm. The park is dotted with acacia trees, shrubs and bushes and has 2 draining rivers which are Maasai Mara River and Talek River. A unique wildlife conservation haven famous for its Natural diversity of wildlife like the Big 5 mammals which are Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes and Rhinos in large numbers as well as other mammals like Cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, crocodiles, hippos, giraffes, duikers, impala hartebeests, roan antelopes, topi, wildebeest and Thomson’s gazelles.

Meanwhile, the park also boosts of over 500 bird species like Bateleur, Secretary bird, Schawlow’s turaco, Abdim’s stork, Hammerkops, Temminck’s courser, Southern ground hornbill, Usambiro barbet, Saddle-billed stork, Giant kingfisher, Woolly-necked stork, Black-headed heron, Giant kingfisher, African jacana, Crowned lapwing, Malachite kingfisher, Grey-headed kingfisher among others. Maasai Mara National Reserve is also famous for its annual Wildebeest Beast Migration where Millions of these creatures migrate from Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park which occurs between July and October making it one of the 7 Wonders of the World.

Serengeti National Park

Located in the Northern region of Tanzania and it was established in 1952. The park covers an area of 14763sqkm making it home to over 70 mammal species like  dik-dik, Oryx, greater Kudu, Hyenas, Hippos, bushbuck, Jackals, giraffes, Janet cats, Baboons, Giraffes, elands, spring hare, porcupine, warthog, Hyraxes, vervet monkeys, Colobus monkeys, patas monkeys, and mongooses and also Africa’s Big 5 mammals which are lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and Rhinos. Serengeti National park also boosts of over 500 bird species including Grey-Breasted spur fowl, Fischer’s lovebird, Rufous-tailed weaver, Usambiro barbet, Grey-crested helmet-shrike, Kori Bustard, Red-capped robin-chat, Secretary bird, Verreaux’s eagle, Yellow-throated sand grouse among others. Serengeti National Park is well known for its annual Wildebeest Migration of over 1,500,000 and 250,000 Zebras which occur between the months of July and October.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Located in the Northern part of Tanzania on the Eastern Great Rift Valley Arm which is managed by Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. The Conservation area was officially established in 1959 and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 and it is part of the Serengeti Ecosystem. Ngorongoro’s main attraction is the Ngorongoro Crater which is the World’s largest intact and unfilled Volcanic Caldera with over 25,000 mammals including wildebeests, hippos, warthogs, hyenas, zebras, elands, gazelles, and the Big 5 mammal species which are lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos as well as buffaloes and over 100 bird species co-existing with the Semi-nomadic Maasai people.

 

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Your 15 Days Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari Holiday will start with a pick up from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel. Our professional driver guide from Paradise Adventure Vacations will meet and greet you, he will brief you about the entire journey and thereafter start your journey to Uganda’s Kibale National park which is a 5 to 6 hours drive from Kampala. The park is located in the Western region of Uganda in Kabarole district. You will have magnificent scenic views of Uganda’s landscape as you drive through to the park. Enroute to your destination, you will have a lunch stopover in Fort Portal Tourism City and then proceed to Kibale National Park for relaxation, dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Wetland and Community Visit

After your morning breakfast on day 2 of your 15 Days Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari Holiday, you will then prepare for the famous Chimpanzee Trekking experience. Wear appropriate clothing for the activity like a long sleeved shirt, a pair of karky or jean trousers, water proof boots, a round cap and a heavy sweater to protect you from the tree branches and also in case of bad weather.  Carry in your back packs some snacks and drinking water to help in keeping you hydrated during the trek since it may take about 1 to 5 hours to find these Chimpanzees depending on their location. Proceed to Kanyachu visitor center where you will be briefed about the Do’s and the Don’ts of the park, you will be assigned a chimpanzee group to look out for and also a park ranger to help you during the trek.

During the trek

You will encounter various primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, Olive baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, Red colobuses, Mantled guereza and also various bird species like flycatchers, hornbills, black billed turaco, kingfisher, cuckoos, purple breasted sunbird, crowned eagle, black capped waxbill, and black collard apalis among others. On finding the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them to learn about their behaviors, social life, how they communicate among others. You will then return back to your accommodation for lunch and relaxation.

Later in the afternoon, you will proceed to the park’s Bigodi wetland for a swamp walk and during this walk you will spot some butterfly species and birds like the Black-crowned Waxbill, White-spotted Fluff tail, White-breasted Negrofinch, Yellow-spotted Barbet, Black Bishop, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Yellow-billed Barbet, Brown-crowned Tchagra, Black & white Shrike-flycatcher, Western Nicator, Superb Sunbird, among others. You will then proceed for a community walk where you will taste the Gins brewed from bananas, craft making, coffee processing, and then you will return back to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your day 3 of the 15 Days Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari Holiday will begin with a delicious breakfast and thereafter you will embark on about 8 hours’ drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park including a lunch stopover. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for relaxation as you await the next day’s activity.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla Trekking – Batwa Community Encounter – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Upon waking up by the beautiful sounds of the birds singing in the sky, you will start your day 4 of the 15 Days Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari Holiday with an early morning breakfast. Wear appropriate clothing for the day like a long sleeved shirt, a pair of karky or jean trousers, a round cap, water proof boots to protect you against the falling tree branches of the Impenetrable forest and also in case of bad weather,  Pack some snacks and water to help in keeping you hydrated during the trek.

The trek

Proceed to the park’s headquarters for a briefing on the Do’s and the Don’ts while you are with the mountain gorillas, you will also be assigned a park ranger who will guide you during the trek and also a gorilla family to look out for and then start the search for the mountain gorillas which will take about 1 to 7 hours depending on their location.

During your trek, you will encounter various primate species like the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, grey mangabeys, and blue monkeys and also bird species like handsome francolin, red headed blue bill, regal sunbird, breasted sunbird, African blue cuckoo, Rwenzori turaco, Shelley’s crimson, purple sunbird among other bird species. On finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only one hour with them as you learn about their ways of life, how they feed and take care of their young ones, how they communicate among others. Feel free to ask as many questions as possible about these gorillas and take memorable pictures and then you will return back to your accommodation for lunch.

Later you will check out and visit the Batwa community who were the early inhabitants of the ancient Impenetrable forest before it became a National park and also a UNESCO World heritage site in 1992 and learn about their social ways of life, how they hunt for food in their ancient ways, visit a Batwa homestead to watch how they dance and also hear ancient legends and their folk songs and then you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi where you will have relaxation and later dinner and an overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight to Nairobi

You will have your lunch stopover in Ajip Motel or Igongo Cultural Center.

Day 6: Nairobi City Tour and Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

You will have a mouth-watering breakfast on your day 6 of the 15 Days Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari Holiday and thereafter have a brief City Tour in Nairobi Kenya’s Capital. You will then embark on a 4 hours’ drive to Lake Nakuru National Park and upon arrival, you will check in for your delicious lunch and then later have a game drive around Lake Nakuru to watch the eye-catching flocks of the Greater and the lesser flamingos which color the shores of Lake Nakuru pink, you will take various memorable pictures and then later proceed to the Rhino sanctuary which is a home to about 100 white rhinos and 50 black rhinos. Return back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve – Evening Game Drive

Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation for a hearty lunch and have rest. Later you will go on a relaxed scenic drive until sunset in the rosy grassy hills in search for African wildlife like Elephants, Buffaloes, giraffes, duikers, impalas, hartebeests, roan antelopes, topi, wildebeest and Thomson’s gazelles. Later you will return for your dinner and an overnight.

After your delicious breakfast, you will embark on a full day game drive with your packed lunch  which will give you an encounter with mammal species like zebras, wildebeests, hippos, giraffes, duikers, impala hartebeests, roan antelopes, topi, wildebeest and Thomson’s gazelles, rhinos, buffaloes, elephants and if lucky you will as well spot leopards, lions, hyenas. Later in the evening hours, return back to your lodge with an amazing game drive which will give you sights of more wildlife species to spice up your day. You will then have your dinner and an overnight.

Day 9: Maasai Mara National Park – Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Nature walk

Upon waking up on your day 9 of the 15 Days Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari Holiday, you will embark on an early morning game drive which will give you a great opportunity to spot predators like lions, leopards, spotted hyenas and other mammals like hippos, buffaloes, wildebeests, elephants and many more. Return back to your accommodation for a hearty breakfast and spend your entire afternoon relaxing at your lodge. Later, you will go for a 2 hour Nature walk with a local Maasai guide who will share his experience and expertise with you. He will teach you about the hidden secrets of the African savannah and how the Maasai people track wildlife and birds and also how they find medicine in the bush. You will later return to your lodge for a relaxed dinner and an overnight.

It will be a long day of driving but the game drives in and out of the parks will be surprisingly rewarding. Dinner and your overnight will be at your lodge.

This day of your Safari will give you a great opportunity to search for more of the Wildlife that you failed to spot on your previous game drive.

Day 13: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge with Afternoon Game drive

You will start your day 13 with a lovely morning breakfast with your picnic lunch boxes via the Olduvai Gorge where it is believed the cradle of mankind began. While here, you will encounter and learn about the fossils, stone tools and the skeletons of many extinct animals excavated in the gorge. Thereafter transfer with an afternoon game drive to Ngorongoro Crater which is not only called Africa’s Eden but also the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World, a visit to the crater is a main draw card for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction.

Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor is dotted with watering holes, which shelters 25,000 animals. You will enjoy your picnic lunch as you view the wildlife. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhinos then return to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist.

Day 14: Ngorongoro Crater Rim Walk

On your day 14 of the 15 Days Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari Holiday, you will have a relaxed breakfast and your entire morning will be spent resting and relaxing. Later in the afternoon, you will go on a guided walk along the top of the Crater wall. This part of the Crater is very beautiful and densely forested with Tropical trees, plants and creepers. The Crater Rim walk will take you along the picturesque rim offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape and various wildlife species. Later you will return to your lodge for your dinner and an overnight.
