Detail Itinerary for 15 days Safari in Uganda & Adventure Holiday

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

Pick up by your guide from the Hotel in Kampala in the morning as soon as breakfast is done. And straightaway transfer to Murchison falls through the Luwero triangle. On the way, visit Zziwa rhino sanctuary in order to track rhinos and have lunch at the restaurant. Then proceed to the park, visit the falls at the top where you will see the magnificent falls passing through the 7m gap with rocks and form the Victoria Nile. Finally head to the lodge and check in.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Game drive and launch trip

After your breakfast at the lodge and set out for a 2 to 3 hours game drive in Uganda’s largest park with a variety of wildlife such as leopards, hippos, lions, warthogs, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, giraffes, waterbucks as well as different bird species. After the drive, then head to the lodge and have lunch.

In the afternoon, you will head out for the fascinating launch trip on the Nile where you will see a number of animals along the banks such as elephants, hippos, crocodile, antelopes, and also monkeys and birds will be spotted along to, sail to the bottom of the falls where you will hike for about 1hour and 30 minutes after which you will return to your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Firstly, wake up early and have breakfast. Secondly checkout from your lodge and have a game drive out of the park to Kibale Forest via Fort portal. Kibale Forest is one of Africa’s beautiful rain forests and home to not only 13 primates but also most common ones are Chimpanzees. It is also a great place for birders since it harbors over 325 bird species. Driving to this park great scenic views however are spotted along the way. Then have a nature walk in the evening in the park.  Lastly check in to your lodge and relax.

Day 4: Kibale Forest Chimpanzee tracking.

After an early Breakfast specifically head to the park head offices for briefing and after set out for Chimpanzee tracking through the forest.  But remember that only 1 hour is given to trackers when they meet with the chimpanzees. Other primates canas well be spotted especially the Red Tailed Monkeys, L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Black & White colobus Monkeys among others and also elephants, antelopes, buffaloes.

You will then go back to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, you straightaway proceed  for a walk through the Bigodi wetland where you will see birds, baboons, bush babies among other wildlife species. Eventually return to your lodge and relax.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast shortly set off to Queen Elizabeth. Which is one of Uganda’s outstanding wildlife National parks with over 600 bird species, mammals for example elephants, buffaloes among others. During the journey you will surely enjoy great views including the Rwenzori ranges. On reaching the park you will then go for a game drive in the evening where you will see a number of animals. Afterwards check in and relax.

Day 6: Game drive and launch trip Along Kazinga Channel

Today after breakfast go for an early morning game drive through the park where you will see different wildlife species for instance waterbucks, lions, elephants, hartebeests, giraffes, antelopes,  buffaloes, leopards, warthogs, also view different crater lakes. After the 3 to 4 hour drive, furthermore head back for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon 2 hour launch trip on Kazinga channel. Which is home to over 550 hippos but also birds and other animals like crocodiles, elephants, antelopes among others. Finally return to your lodge and have dinner and refresh.

Day 7: Game drive & transfer to BIFNP via ishasha

Have breakfast then check out from your lodge. Meanwhile transfer to BIFNP where you will pass via the Ishasha area pronounced for the famous tree climbing lions. It will certainly take some time to reach the park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park is especially the home of the threatened mountain gorillas.

Day 8: Gorilla Tracking and Transfer Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Firstly talk of gentle giants with a 98% DNA close to that of humans, it’s the Mountain gorillas which made Bwindi Forest their home. Also other species for example butterflies, plants, primates, mammals, butterflies, frogs, among others are also found here. After briefing at the headquarters, you will be led by the rangers into the jungle in order to track gorillas.

This experience usually takes 1 hour to about 8 hours since gorillas move differently also and only 1 hour is granted to capture your greatest moments with the gorillas. In the evening, you then can go for a short guided forest walk or Village walk to the Batwa community before you transfer to MGNP.

Day 9: Golden Monkey trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park

Golden Monkey trekking: You will wake up early in the morning then have an aromatic coffee or tea served with delicious snacks with packed lunch. After the breakfast, your driver or guide will definitely drive you to the briefing point where the golden monkey trekking experience eventually starts, same as the previous day. To your briefing, a ranger guide will then share information on what to expect while in the Virunga volcanoes trekking for the golden monkeys.

After your briefing will then start hiking up in volcanoes searching for golden monkeys since there is much hiking needed you will be joined by porters to help those are interested and in any case, you meet the wild buffaloes and Elephants which can be dangerous to you. These golden monkeys are swift in their movement unlike the mountain gorillas and you will have to follow them as they move to feed. Once you see them, you’re given 1 hour to spend with the golden monkeys see them feeding, playing before you begin your descent back to the lodge.

Day 10: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

Today after breakfast while still in the mood of reminiscing about the previous days gorilla experiences, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi, which is Africa’s second deepest lake and a birders spot. Enjoy the eye-catching landscapes such as the locally terraced interlocking hills where most locals carryout their farming. Also while here you are in the base that was named by British’s great diplomat Winston Churchill as the Switzerland of Africa.

Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast hence have amazing views from surrounding hills, forests and the beautiful rays of the morning sun. You will head out for a canoe ride on the lake which harbors 29 islands and almost every island with a history such as the Punishment Island – enjoy the stories from the guides on this boat ride. Return to the lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon, take a walk, or hike up the hills to enjoy more spectacular views of forests and lakes, or watch birds, or read a book while relaxing by the lake shores, or swim in the lake which is Bilharzia free and safe for swimming.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park- Home of Zebras

After breakfast, embark specifically on the drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Evidently one of Uganda’s smallest parks. Additionally have lunch en route, spot stunning sceneries, farms, and plantations. The park is home to a big number of mammals such as Zebras, also impalas, oribi, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks and also over 332 bird species made it their home. When you arrive in the park- in the afternoon then go on a boat cruise along Lake Mburo and here, take enough photographs as you would wish.

Day 13: Drive to Kampala

Enjoy an early breakfast then go for  a game drive as you continue to Kampala, have a stopover at the Equator line in order to take photos and also buy some souvenirs from craft shops in case you’re interested. Enjoy lunch still at the Equator.  After lunch drive until Jinja located in the East of Uganda and the home of the source of the Nile River. Eventually arrive in the evening and check in.

Day 14: White water rafting and discovering the Nile

Firstly have an early breakfast and head out for today’s activities. The Nile River accordingly finds its source in Jinja where it starts the 4000 km through different African countries. So your driver will continuously take you to where the beginning point is as you go for discovering the Source of the Nile. you will then go for a guided boat cruise on the Nile. After the boat, proceed for half day rafting on the rapids which is not only an adventure but also an unforgettable experience. Straightaway have lunch and after you could choose to rest at the lodge on the swimming pool or go for optional activities like bungee jumping or kayaking or quad biking or Horse riding among others.
