8 Days Safari to Kenya Holiday – Comfort

8 Days Safari to Kenya Holiday – Comfort, you’ll travel to Amboseli National Park, spending two nights in the home of the largest tuskers you will ever see. You’ll be stopping for a night in the idyllic Lake Nakuru and another in Lake Naivasha. You’ll then go on your way to the Masai Mara, probably the most prolific wildlife destination on the planet.

Day 1: Amboseli National Park

You’ll have an early morning start and drive to Amboseli National Park. Check-in at your accommodation and have lunch. In the afternoon, go for a game drive.

Amboseli National Park is situated due south of Nairobi. Most of the park consists of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland, while in the southern area there is a number of small, rocky, volcanic hills. Around the swamps Ol Okenya, Ol Tukai and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush with yellow barked acacias and phoenix palms.

Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the campsite or lodge.

You’ll rise up early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. With packed lunch provided, an optional visit to a Maasai village can be planned after breakfast. A visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. 8-Day into the Wild, Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in the whole of Africa to experience elephants at close range. Left harassed by poachers, elephants feeding and bathing in the swamps must form the highlights of any safari.

Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the campsite or lodge.

At 1910m (6200ft), the water is fresh and the lake is fringed with dense clumps of papyrus (ancient Egyptian once used this to make paper). Kingfishers use the papyrus as a perch while herons hide in it while searching for food. Naivasha is yet another area popular for bird watching (over 400 species have been recorded). It is also a favorite weekend retreat for Nairobi residents, who come here to sail, water ski and fish. There are no crocodiles in the lake as the water is too cold for them, due to the altitude but there are a number of hippos. Along the lakeshore, vineyards produce grapes for the country’s fledgeling wine industry.

Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the campsite or lodge.

A boat ride in Lake Naivasha is included.

But the flamingoes, of course, have always been the main attraction. 8-Day into the Wild, At times there may be almost 2 million flamingoes in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagle, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 of bustard (including the kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.

What happens if the jeep breaks down?

Our Safari vehicles are serviced and maintained to a very high standard before, during and after every safari. The age of the vehicles in our fleet varies but most were built between 2008 and 2013. If your vehicle does break down and it cannot be fixed on the road, we will request a rescue jeep which will come for you so that you can continue your safari with minimum impact. Whilst every effort is made to prevent this from happening, the driving is rough and the vehicles do take quite a pounding!

We believe in value for money. Every guest would like to have the most reliable and comfortable vehicles on safari. In response to the clients’ needs, we have a very strict vehicle replacement policy that ensures a young fleet at all times. We have a total fleet of 225 well-maintained motor vehicles, predominantly 4-wheel drives. This does away with the problem of sub-contracting vehicles and driver-guides, which may compromise the quality of services. Our safari vehicles are specifically converted for maximum space and comfort. All of them have hatched roof and sliding windows to facilitate good viewing and convenient photography during game drives and sight seeing.
