A Three Day Murchison Falls Safari Uganda

This Murchison Falls Safari Uganda avails you an experience of the world’s strongest water fall. Locally known as the kabalega falls, they are found in the one largest national park of the pearl of Africa. Covering an area of 3,840 sq. km, gazetted in 1926 as a game reserve and in 1952 as a national park, Uganda’s mighty park is situated in the northwestern part of the country. Murchison Falls is home to over 451 bird species such as the Great blue Turaco, Goliath heron, the Shoebill, and the dwarf kingfisher among others, 76 mammal species including the four of the big five, a big number of aquatic animals and above all the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeezing their way through a gorge that is 8m wide. The park is also endowed with diverse vegetation, savanna grassland and savanna woodland being dominant. The  Whispering waters of the  Victoria Nile  flowing through harbor all time starving Nile crocodiles and hippos, thus also separating the park into two (the northern and southern bank). Lighten in the thunder of the strongest worlds water fall.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park (MFNP)

After an early breakfast, our professional driver guide will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 am, brief you about the day expectations which after you will start your adventure to Murchison Falls National park via Kampala – Gulu highway. On the way, you will branch off in Nakitooma-Nakasongola for a visit to Zziwa rhino sanctuary for a guided walk to view the southern white rhinos that were once extinct in the country. After the strenuous walk, you will have lunch.

In the afternoon, you will drive to the legendary Murchison falls national park and proceed to the top of the falls. Along the way you will encounter rich wild life and breathtaking sceneries. At the top of the falls, you will see the magnificent falls squeezing through the rocks in an 8m gorge. Take as many photos as you can which after you will proceed to the lodge, check in and enjoy the paramount hospitality service.

Day 2:  Game drive and Launch trip in MFNP

On this day wake up early and have breakfast at 6:30 am, after your driver and the ranger guide will pick you up from the lodge to start your Game drive at 7:00 am.  This is a beautiful drive across savannah, Borassus Palm forest and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. Drive to the open African savannah in search for Lions, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, elephants, Jackson heart beasts, oribi, water bucks and Uganda kobs.  At around 11:40 am, drive back to the lodge, freshen up and have lunch.

After lunch in the afternoon, you will embark on the three hour launch trip to the base of the falls. You will cruise past huge hippo pools, crocodiles, bathing buffaloes, and numerous aquatic birds adorning the north bank on the way to the mighty water falls such as the bee eaters, the colored kingfishers, the shoe billed stork and many others. While at the base of the fall, you could opt to go for hiking to the top where you will meet your driver guide who will drive you back to the lodge.

Day 3:  Return to the airport/Kampala

After breakfast in the morning, you will be returned to Kampala. En-route you will be able to enjoy spectacular views inclusive the Karuma falls.
