The 3-day Lake Mburo National Park safari is a great opportunity for a weekend getaway, just a few hours’ drive from Uganda’s busy capital city. The tour combines game drives, a boat safari and a bush walk in the park’s lush bush savannah with tranquility and relaxation at the lodge. The small park is famous for its many zebras, impalas and the eland, which happens to be the world’s largest antelope and can only be sighted in Mburo.

One of the special characteristic of this safari package is the possibility to book an optional horseback safari in the National Park at a given lodge.

This 3-day Lake Mburo National Park safari leads you to the smallest savannah park in Uganda measuring 260 square kilometers for many great moments. Lake Mburo is the most easily accessible of parks being located along the Kampala Mbarara highway in the western districts of Mbarara and Kiruhura. The park is small but with varied habitats for its size. These include a network of 13 lakes, acacia woodland, dry hillsides, rocky outcrops, bushy thickets, open and wooded savannah, seasonal and permanent swamps. It small size should not make you think there is nothing to keep you occupied.

The best way to enjoy the park on this 3-day Lake Mburo National Park Safari is through a series of game drives, nature walks and a boat cruise. You can have various nature walks with a guide to seek out your interests i.e. birding, mammals, plants, and shrubs, insects and many more. Birding is another activity due to the park’s habitats hosting over 315 species of birds. The altitude of the park ranges from 1220 meters to 1828 meters above sea level.
