11 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari & Zanzibar Beach

On this 11 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari & Zanzibar Beach, you will enjoy the best that Tanzania has to offer. You will visit Tarangire National Park, well known for its vast elephant families and iconic baobab trees, as well as visiting Lake Manyara, home to the multitudinous flamingo. We’ll visit Ngorongoro Crater a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five. After your safari, you fly to Zanzibar where warm turquoise waters and white sands on the Indian Ocean await.

Tarangire National Park

Located in the Northern part of Tanzania and lies within the Northern Circuit which consists of several other National Parks. The park covers an approximate area of 2,850sqkm and was garzetted as a National park in 1970. Tarangire National Park boosts of about 58 mammal species including large herds of elephants, giraffes, tree climbing pythons, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, gazelles, cheetahs, honey badgers, fringe eared oryx kudus, hartebeests, African wild dogs, zebras, tree climbing lions, cape buffaloes, wildebeests, waterbucks, dik-dik, impala among others. The park also has a strong concentration of bird species amounting to 550 species, among these include the greater and lesser Kudus as well as oryx, northern pied babbler, vulturine guineafowl, Rufous-tailed weaver, yellow-collard sun bird, white-bellied go away bird, hornbills, bee-eaters, ashy starling, mouse birds, tiny-pygmy falcon, white pelicans, superb sterlings, white-headed babbler, hammerkops among other bird species.

Serengeti National Park

Located in the Northern region of Tanzania and it was established in 1952. The park covers an area of 14763sqkm making it home to over 70 mammal species like  dik-dik, Oryx, greater Kudu, Hyenas, Hippos, bushbuck, Jackals, giraffes, Janet cats, Baboons, Giraffes, elands, spring hare, porcupine, warthog, Hyraxes, vervet monkeys, Colobus monkeys, patas monkeys, and mongooses and also Africa’s Big 5 mammals which are lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and Rhinos. Serengeti National park also boosts of over 500 bird species including Grey-Breasted spur fowl, Fischer’s lovebird, Rufous-tailed weaver, Usambiro barbet, Grey-crested helmet-shrike, Kori Bustard, Red-capped robin-chat, Secretary bird, Verreaux’s eagle, Yellow-throated sand grouse among others. Serengeti National Park is well known for its annual Wildebeest Migration of over 1,500,000 and 250,000 Zebras which occur between the months of July and August.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Located in the Northern part of Tanzania on the Eastern Great Rift Valley Arm which is managed by Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. The Conservation area was officially established in 1959 and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 and it is part of the Serengeti Ecosystem. Ngorongoro’s main attraction is the Ngorongoro Crater which is the World’s largest intact and unfilled Volcanic Caldera with over 25,000 mammals including wildebeests, hippos, warthogs, hyenas, zebras, elands, gazelles, and the Big 5 mammal species which are lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos as well as buffaloes and over 100 bird species co-existing with the Semi-nomadic Maasai people.

Lake Manyara National Park

Located in Arusha and it is part of the Northern Circuits of National parks in Tanzania. The park was established in 1960 and it covers an area of 330sqkm. Lake Manyara National Park is famously known for its tree climbing lions and it is home to various mammal species like the famous tree climbing lions, klipspringer, elephants, warthogs, impalas, Buffaloes, hippos, gazelles, lions, leopards among others. The park is also home to over 400 bird species including native and migrating bird species like the pink flamingos that give color to Lake Manyara, ostriches, storks, hornbills, crowned eagles, pelicans, herons, grey crowned cranes, crested guinea fowl, secretary birds and the silvery cheeked hornbills among others.

 

Day 1: Arrival and Pick up – Transfer to your Hotel in Arusha

The 11 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari & Zanzibar Beach will start with a pick up by our Professional Driver guide from Paradise Adventure Vacations who will meet and greet you, he will brief you about your Safari and thereafter transfer you as you enjoy the captivating beauty of the Landscape in Tanzania to your Hotel in Arusha for a relaxed overnight as you await the next day’s activities.

Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park – Evening Game Drive

Day 2 of your Safari will start with a delicious breakfast and thereafter you will start your drive to Tarangire National Park where you will arrive with an enroute game drive to your lodge. You will check in for a mouth-watering lunch and have relaxation. Later, you will head out for an evening game drive until sunset which will give you sights of different mammals including elephants, giraffes, cape buffaloes, wildebeests, waterbucks, dik-dik, impala, fringe eared oryx kudus, hartebeests, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, gazelles among others. You will then return back to your accommodation for your dinner as well as an overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park – Evening Game Drive

After your lovely morning breakfast on day 3 of your 11 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari & Zanzibar Beach, you will embark on about 4 hours drive to Serengeti National reserve. You will continue towards the fertile Ngorongoro highlands where wheat and corn are grown by the Iraqw people. Along the way, you will also pass through the mist-shrouded rain forests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to see baboons or even leopards and elephants in the dense undergrowth. Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation for a finger-licking lunch and have relaxation. Later in the late afternoon, you will descend into the central Seronera area which has a great concentration for wildlife and enjoy your game drive as you search for mammal species.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Morning Maasai Community Encounter – Afternoon Game Drive

After delighting on your breakfast, you will proceed for a Cultural Encounter with the Maasai Community living near the park for a rich encounter which will give you the definition of a true African Culture. You will learn about their culture, norms, dress codes and return to your lodge for a finger-licking lunch. In the late afternoon, you will proceed for a game drive until sunset. This game drive through the endless rolling plains of Serengeti will give you sights of different wildlife species among which include Hippos, bushbuck, lions, Jackals, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, Janet cats, Baboons, Giraffes, elands, spring hare, porcupine, warthog, Hyraxes among others. For the bird lovers, Serengeti National Park also offers bird species like the Grey-Breasted spur fowl, Fischer’s lovebird, Rufous-tailed weaver, Usambiro barbet, Grey-crested helmet-shrike, Kori Bustard, Red-capped robin-chat, Secretary bird among others since the bird checklist within the park is over 500 species.

Day 5: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater – Afternoon Crater Rim Walk

Day 5 of your 11 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari & Zanzibar Beach, will begin with a lovely morning breakfast and thereafter you will transfer with an enroute game drive to Ngorongoro Crater.  Upon arrival, you will check in for a mouth-watering lunch and then later you will go on a guided walk along the top of the Crater wall. This part of the Crater is very beautiful and densely forested with Tropical trees, plants and creepers. The Crater Rim walk will take you along the picturesque rim offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape and various wildlife species. Later you will return to your lodge for your dinner and an overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park – Full day Exploration – Transfer to Arusha

After your lovely breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and go for a full day exploration of Lake Manyara National Park with your packed lunch. Manyara, a relatively small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha, is so named for the shallow salt lake that occupies a good 70% of the park’s lands. Flooding and drying seasonally, this soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On our exploration of the park, we shall see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants and with some luck, we shall also see lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes, not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. After our full day in the park, we will drive to Arusha for your dinner as well as an overnight.

Day 7: Fly to Zanzibar – Stone Town Tour

On your day 7, you will have breakfast and thereafter be transferred to Arusha Airport. Here, you will catch your flight to Zanzibar and upon landing, you will meet our guide who will then take you for a Tour to Stone Town which is one of the few remaining ancient Towns in Africa blending African, Indian, Arabian and European cultures. You will have your lunch and dinner as well as an overnight in Stone Town.

Day 8: Full day Stone Town – Spice Farm – Prison Island

You can take some rest and enjoy this paradise made of beautiful beaches of white sands and turquoise water of the Indian Ocean. You will enjoy various activities such as a day tour in Stone Town, Spice farm Tour and Prison Island.

Day 9: Transfer to Nungwi – Full day Relaxation

You will have a delicious breakfast on your day 9 of the 11 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari & Zanzibar Beach and thereafter transfer to Nungwi beach which is about 1 ½ hours from Stone town. Nungwi beach is a top tourist destination with vast stretches of white sand blanketed by colorful shells and azure blue waters. You will relax and spend your entire day at this beach enjoying the activities, beauty as well as the sunsets.

Day 10: Transfer to Jozani forest for Nature walk – Visit Kae Sunset Beach

Your day 10 of the 11 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari & Zanzibar Beach will start with a mouthwatering breakfast and thereafter drive to Jozani Forest which is located in the Southern region of Zanzibar. You will go on a guided nature walk which will get you up close to the red colobus monkeys, bird species and also butterflies. You will have your lunch and transfer to Kae sunset beach where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing at the beach.

Our fleet consists of 4×4 Toyota Land cruisers with a hinged roof and skylights above the front seats. The hinged roof offers two main advantages: it provides shade without restricting the view, so that you can enjoy your safari even in the very sunny hours of the day. It also allows a 360-degree all-round view.
