The 10 Days Mountain Rwenzori Trekking & Hiking Adventure will unveil to you rare Natural beauty and serenity, it will offer you various breathtaking activities that will last a life time. This Safari will start with a pick up from Entebbe International Airport and thereafter you will drive to the Rwenzori Mountains dubbed as “The Mountains of the Moon” for a thrilling Hiking experience which will take 8 days.
Rwenzori Mountains National Park is located in Western Uganda and it is famous for its Mountain Hiking up to the highest peak “Magherita.” The mountain has the 3rd highest peak in Africa with 5109m above sea level and it is home to 70 mammal species including Elephants, Giant forest hog, Rwenzori Otter, duikers, bushbucks, and also primates such as blue monkeys, Angola colobus monkey, black-and-white colobus monkeys and Chimpanzees. The park is also home to about 217 bird species like Rwenzori turaco, Rwenzori batis, long eared fowl, handsome francolin, giant heather among other bird species.
Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel – Drive to Rwenzori Mountains National Park
Your 10 Days Mountain Rwenzori Trekking & Hiking Adventure will start with a pick up from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel by our Professional driver guide from Paradise Adventure Vacations, he will brief you about your entire journey and thereafter you will start the 8 hours drive to the Rwenzori Mountains with a lunch stopover in Fort Portal the “Tourism City” and then you will proceed to the park for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Rwenzori Mountains National Park – Hike to Nyabitaba Hut (2651)
Day 2 of your 10 Days Mountain Rwenzori Trekking & Hiking Adventure will start with a lovely breakfast and thereafter you will proceed to Nyakalengeja to start your hike to the Mountains of the Moon. This journey takes you through the thick equatorial vegetation and along the Serene Mubuku River before arriving at the Nyabitaba lodge which is 2651 meters. On your way you will encounter primate species like blue monkeys, Rwenzori colobus monkeys and the red monkeys. You will have your delicious lunch and dinner as well as an overnight at Nyabitaba hut.

Day 3: Rwenzori Mountains National Park – Hike to John Matte Hut (3380)
Your day 3 of the 10 Days Mountain Rwenzori Trekking & Hiking Adventure will start with an early morning breakfast and thereafter you will proceed with your hike up to John Matte Hut. You will pass through Kurt Shaffer Bridge where you will see the brilliant Mubuku confluence. Then reach the Nyamuleju hut for lunch where you will breathe in nature at its best upon seeing a scenic view of Mountain Stanley and Mountain Speke peaks. Hike through the open areas, giant lobelias and the heath – moss woodland before continuing to John Matte cabin at 3415 meters where you will have your dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Rwenzori Mountains National Park – Hike to Bujuku Hut (3962m)
Day 4 of the 10 Days Mountain Rwenzori Trekking & Hiking Adventure will begin with a lovely breakfast and thereafter you will ascend to Bujuku hut. As you ascend, you will take in breathtaking panoramas of Mount Baker to the South and Mount Stanley to the West, you will then reach Bujuku hut which is situated between Mount Speke and Mount Baker where you will have your dinner and an overnight.

Day 5: Rwenzori Mountains National Park – Hike to Elena Hut (4541)
After having your breakfast on day 5 of the 10 Days Mountain Rwenzori Trekking & Hiking Adventure, you will continue your hike up to Elena hut which is 4541m. This trail takes you through more bog and steep slopes west of Lake Bujuku and through the magical groundsel gully as it ascends to Scott Elliot pass at 4372m. You will then continue your hike up to the icy and coolly Elena hut where you will have your dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Rwenzori Mountains National Park –Hike to Magherita Peak (5109) – Descend to Kitandara Hut (4027)
Your day 6 of the 10 Days Mountain Rwenzori Trekking & Hiking Adventure will begin with an early morning hot breakfast and thereafter you will continue with your hike to the highest point “Magherita Peak” on Mount Stanley. While at the top, you will have a view of Irene Lake, Mount Speke and the surrounding areas. You will then descend to Elena hut where you will have your lunch and then descend through Scott Elliot to Kitandara hut where you will have your dinner and an overnight.

Day 7: Rwenzori Mountains National Park – Descend to Guy Yeoman (3450)
You will wake up on day 7 of your 10 Days Mountain Rwenzori Trekking & Hiking Adventure and have breakfast and thereafter you move through the base of Mount Baker and continue along the base of Mountain Rwenzori to Fresh Field Pass. From here the descent continues through the rock shelter at Bujangolo and then you will reach Guy Yeoman hut which is located just at the banks of river Mubuku where you will have your dinner and overnight.

This will take about 5 hours and then proceed with the rest of the journey to your destination. You will have your lunch in Kampala.
