Camp on the Nile (Budget)
Nile River Camp is located just 6 kilometers from Jinja town with a spectacular view of the Nile, brilliant sunsets, and beautiful surroundings. Nile River Camp offers accommodation in safari tents with beds; nothing more, nothing less.However, all tents overlook the River Nile and the cozy restaurant and bar will make your stay comfortable. There is even a small swimming pool! Nile River Camp is also home to Nalubale Rafting which offers all the rafting options on the Nile at a substantially discounted price for the Full Day Grade 5 trips.
MBALE Hotels and Lodges
Not many people stay in Mbale and we normally advise people to stay in Sipi Falls instead. However, Sipi falls don’t have many semi-luxe options. Only Sipi River Lodge offers semi-luxe accommodation but has only 3 self-contained rooms. When it’s full or when we have bigger groups we sometimes choose to stay in Mbale and do the Sipi Falls activities from here (1 hour driving each way). Mbale Resort Hotel presents itself as a deluxe five-star hotel, but Matoke Tours doesn’t see it this way. However, they do offer comfortable accommodation and the service and swimming pool are nice, so we rate it as Semi-luxe.
Sipi River Lodge (Semi-luxe)
Sipi River Lodge specifically located on the foothills of Mount Elgon, famous for the three spectacular waterfalls. Home to an incredible number of bird species, ground for some of the best Arabica coffee in the world, and famous for the magical sunsets. Sipi River Lodge is by far the most comfortable place to stay in the area. Within the picturesque setting, you will experience the view on one of the Kapsurur Falls right from your veranda. The restaurant serves hearty home-style meals that celebrate the local produce. The freshly baked bread and garden-grown coffee will trigger your taste buds at breakfast to get you ready for a wonderful day in the beautiful Sipi region!
Lacam Lodge (Budget/ mid-range)
Lacam lodge is beautifully located right at the edge of the cliff and has the most amazing views of the valley and the biggest waterfall in this area. The rooms are rather basic but comfortable and bar and view will make up for that. The staff is super friendly and very helpful in arranging all things in the park including guides for hiking.
Home of Friends guesthouse (budget/mid-range)
Home of Friends is a convenient mid-range accommodation, just outside Kapchorwa Town, located on the flanks of Mount Elgon (2.000m. altitude). Kampala Hotels & Lodges,With its panoramic views and leisure opportunities such as hiking and mountain biking, it is a perfect getaway from the hectic city life. The amazing Sipi Falls is located only 20 min. from the Guesthouse. In its cozy restaurant, Home of Friends offers healthy and affordable meals, a tasty mix of Ugandan and Western food.

Brownstone Country Home (Mid-range)
The Brownstone provides an easy to reach quiet location for your comfortable stay and is just 5 km (7 minutes’ drive) to Lira Town. It’s set in a quiet location for your comfortable stay. The accommodation is situated in vast well laundered undulating compound interspaced. With a variety of natural trees and organically nurtured orchards. That provide sweet mouth-watering fruits you never forget after staying at Brownstone.
GULU HOTELS
Churchill Courts (Mid-range)
Gulu is rather new on the tourism map and not yet many nice and cozy lodges have been built. There are plenty of opportunities to stay in comfortable and clean places, but it won’t give you the “out of Africa” experience. One of the most comfortable hotels is Churchill Courts. It’s a new hotel with spacious air-conditioned rooms (useful, because Gulu can be very hot). The restaurant isn’t all that cozy. But the menu is good and the service is warm and nice, as usual in Uganda.
Bomah Hotel Gulu (Mid-range)
Gulu rather new on the tourism map and not yet many nice and cozy lodges have been built. There are plenty of opportunities to stay in comfortable and clean places, but it won’t give you the “out of Africa” experience. Bomah Hotel Gulu is one of the oldest hotels in Gulu and famous with volunteers and expats. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the restaurant serves simple, but fine meals and the restaurant/bar is rather cozy. T
