Nomad Lamai Serengeti is situated amongst the rocks of Kogakuria Kopje. A few miles from where the wildebeest cross the Mara River, with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. These views from every corner of Lamai Serengeti will deliver impact, right from the moment you arrive. The Migration here happens for roughly a quarter of the year between late July and October. For the rest of the year, it is wild Serengeti with all the resident wildlife of the Masai Mara but without the people.

Nomad Lamai Serengeti is an absolutely fantastic lodge with the highest quality. The Lodge is like a breath of fresh air when compared to a lot of Luxurious safari camps with its quirky style and incredible location. It boasts some of the best service in the region giving you Luxury. Without all the glitz and glam that often detracts from that true Safari feel.
The Accommodations consists of 12 rooms, split into 2 properties. The Main Lodge has 8 rooms and the Private Lodge has 4 rooms. 2 of the Main Lodge rooms are suitable for family use. These 2 properties are accessed from the guest rooms along walkways amongst the kopjes. The walkways have occasionally steep steps. Especially those leading to the Main Lodge which has a higher position although the journey is worth the exertion.
Both lounges are very comfortable with a lot of well-cushioned seating. The dining areas have a long table for communal meals and also individual tables available. Both hot and cold options are offered for breakfast, and lunch is presented as a buffet of light dishes followed by tempting desserts. Dinner is a lavish 3-course meal. The 2 lodges have a bar and sparkling swimming pools, and the Main lodge has an additional library and curio shop.
All rooms are open-fronted offering uninterrupted views over the Serengeti plains. Each of them occupies a timber-and-thatch structure. Which is nicely tucked into the Kogakuria kopjes and positioned with maximum privacy in mind.
In all the standard rooms, a wooden door leads into the spacious bedroom, where you will find a double bed with a mosquito net, bedside tables and lighting, a writing desk, chair, snug rugs, and also a day bed. Back in the room, another wooden door leads into the washroom, which has a flush toilet, step-up shower, twin washbasins, and a useful storage unit, and from here, a stable-style door leads onto the deck.
The 2 family rooms have all the features of a standard room, and each of the rooms have an extra twin bedroom for children, there is one large shower room which is shared.
The main activity at Nomad Lamai Serengeti is the guided game drive. This takes place during daylight hours within the Northern Serengeti. During the drives, visitors have access to areas both in the north and south of the Mara River depending on the water levels at any time. The river crossings are a major viewing highlight from Nomad Lamai Serengeti, however, there’s plenty of wildlife to spot at other times. Among the mammals you can expect to see are lions, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and a fine assortment of antelopes.
For the Nature lovers, the Nomad Lamai Serengeti is situated in the dramatic rocky kopjes and rolling plains. This area of the park is characterized by river lines and small valleys. Which enable close encounters with several wildlife while on foot.
In case you are keen to view the huge herds of the Great Migration. Then July to October are the best times to visit the Northern Serengeti. This is because an immense number of wildebeests, zebras. And gazelles push through the Kogatende area during these months in their search for fresh pasture.
There are several bird species too for the bird enthusiasts, therefore, it is well worth packing your binoculars.
