Accommodation
Our rooms tastefully decorated in an eclectic African European style to reflect our local culture. Artwork and hand carved furniture locally manufactured to support the nearby communities. Rooms are available with either Twin Beds or King Size Double Beds. Please specify the type of room configuration you prefer when making a reservation. Family rooms and Triples are available, as are Cots for babies.
All rooms at The Boma Hotel Entebbe have 24Hr Services / Reception, Four Poster Beds with mosquito nets, Private verandah, en-suite bathroom. Satellite TV, Daily House Keeping, Safes, Wireless Internet and solar heated hot water shower.
Dinning
Our residents-only restaurant is open from 6am to 10pm, and we serve mostly home-made European style meals, with a dash of Indian, Thai and Mediterranean choices. We usually have specials available every few days, and the chefs always willing to make specific dishes if they are informed in advance. A number of vegetarian and vegan options are available. Our kitchen is open 24/7 to residents and we provide room service.
We have a fully stocked bar with local beers and sodas. Imported wines and spirits are available and our staff can produce a variety of cocktails.
Environmental Sustainability
At The Boma we are committed to operating our business in a manner that maintains a balance between helping the environment and the community in which we live, while providing guests with a comfortable atmosphere to relax in. We are constantly looking for ways to reduce the energy used to run the hotel, the amount of water we use, and the amount of waste we produce.
As a consumer, ultimately, it is the guest who makes a difference by choosing destinations and businesses that are committed to the environment.
Water Catchment and Drinking Water
We utilize a water catchment system enabling us to catch and store rainwater in separate tanks. We are then able to use this for gardening, or to pump treated water into the main tanks when needed during water shortages.
Most hotels in Entebbe use plastic mineral water bottles; and these fill up landfill sites, and cause a lot of roadside pollution. We use large reusable 20lt Mineral Water Fountains, which we dispense into glass jugs (in the rooms and in the restaurant). This cuts out plastic water bottle waste 100%.
Recycling Paper & Glass
We support Papercraft, a fantastic grass roots project that makes eco-friendly products. Such as our menu covers, recycled paper used in albums, note books and glass beads. They also make the hand-made soaps that we use in our guest bedrooms. All of our glass waste (wine bottles, broken glasses, jam jars) and all of our paper waste is taken to Papercraft and recycled. Many of the items in our craft-shop are from this source.
Other Facilities
Library and Book Exchange
We have a large selection of reference books in the Reception & Lounge area for guests to enjoy. We have a book exchange in the Office area where you can exchange your old novel for a new one.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is reserved exclusively for residents of the hotel, so it is a relaxing place to swim. We also have a number of sun beds, and a number of floatation toys for children. And also a pool table around the pool etc.
